About Our Instructors


Ellen Heckert

Ms. Heckert has a Bachelors Degree in English Education and a Masters in Psychology. She is a licensed PA teacher (6 - 12). She has decades of experience in working with youth of all ages and backgrounds - from mentoring in the juvenile court systems to training national award-winning young equestrians. Ellen has 50 years of experience with horses in several different disciplines. As an accomplished equestrian, Ellen holds her USDF Bronze medal and has several scores toward her USDF Silver medal - constantly attending clinics as part of a professional development program.

In addition, Ellen taught college equestrian classes at Wilson College and managed the equestrian center there for 10 years. Ellen has also raised two very successful children who are her inspiration. Ellen, with her husband Steve, created King’s View Acres and is responsible for all of the curriculum taught.


Izzy Bisese

Izzy has a Bachelor’s Degree in American History and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. Izzy is a long time equestrian, who grew up riding competitively in the Hunter/Jumpers. After becoming nationally ranked in the hunter/jumper world, Izzy started riding dressage at Mount Holyoke College. She continued to ride through graduate school at Columbia and supported her riding career as a working student for several prominent FEI riders and trainers in Maryland and Virginia. As a working student, Izzy earned 1st and 2nd level scores towards her Bronze Medal and hopes to complete her medal pursuit soon.

Prior to coming to King’s View Acres, Izzy worked as a clinical social worker with children and families in crisis.
